Dear Home School Families:
We here at the Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum would like to extend an
invitation to the surrounding home school community to visit our
attraction in Branson.
Since moving to Missouri from California, we have noticed many
homeschoolers visit our Museum. The first few years, we were amazed and
delighted that we finally had children and young adults visit the
Museum. This representation of young visitors has continued and, upon
questioning a few of the families, we have been informed that Roy & Dale
movies are often times listed as curriculum suggestions for
homeschoolers. Nothing could make us happier!
We know our youth of today is in desperate need of heroes. Decent role
models for our children just do not exist anymore. Roy Rogers and Dale
Evans were positive role models for our nation's youth in the 1940's and
1950's. The morals, principles, and values Roy and Dale imparted to
yesterday's youth is still relevant today. It seems today's home
schooled children are being taught along these same lines. The love of
God, country, and the difference between right and wrong is, thankfully,
still alive and well in Branson and is represented here at the Museum
honoring these true American heroes.
Our Museum, a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation, is open Tuesday through
Saturday--January through March-- and then Monday through
Saturday--April through December 20, 2008. We have available a
complimentary educational packet which can be picked up at our Box
Office during your visit. Please feel free to copy any of the materials
in the packet for your educational purposes. Museum hours are
9am-5:30pm. Children 12 and under are free to the Museum with a paying
adult admission of $13.00. Juniors, age 13-17, are $6.50 each
accompanied by a paying adult admission.
We sincerely hope you will consider bringing your home schooled family
to visit the Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum. Please pass this invitation
on to other families in your network. If you have any questions, please
feel free to call Renee at 417-339-1900x222. We'll be hoping to
welcome you soon.
Sincerely,
Dustin R. Rogers
General Manager
* If you are interested, there is also a theater inside our Museum where
Roy Rogers Jr. and his band perform Tuesday through Saturday. See our
website for more information.
